I mean cats don’t need to understand Hygge. So why not get started by making yourself some cozy socks appropriate from curling up by the fire with (tea and cake optional but highly recommended). The fair-isle patterning makes them extra warm and by using thick wool you can finish them fast. Regardless, your cats won’t be impressed.
