This hat has been designed to match the Cats in the Garden Sweater which can be found here, and the raglan version which can be found here

This hat is worked from the i-cord up to make 2 garter stitch earflaps. Stitches are then cast on connecting the two earflaps for the front and back of the head, for working in the round. Garter is worked for 6 rows, then markers are placed to begin working charts for the cats. There are 18 cats to choose from. each hat will have from 5-7 cats which are worked in stranded fair-isle. After the cats, another chart is worked, then the rest of the crown is decreased using the contrast colour. A pom pom may be added to finish it off.

Gauge is: 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 in) = 24 st x 34 rows in stockinette

Please note that you may need additional needle sizes to stay in gauge throughout the pattern. Check your gauge during the cat charts and go up or down if required, then return to the needle size needed for stockinette.
