Caught in the Storm Mittens
“Caught in the Storm” is a full mitten version of my fingerless design “Once Upon a Halloween”.
Materials
• US Size 0 (2mm) set of dpns or circular needles (for Magic Loop method); US size 00 (1.75mm) for ribbing (optional)
• Light fingering weight yarn - 231y/50 g (211m/50g): You will need about 277y/60g total: Background Color – 185y/40g, Contrast Color – 92y/20g
Notes
1. Sizes: the size of the mittens can be adjusted with yarn and needles. My recommendation would be: for S/M light fingering + 2mm needles, for M use fingering + 2.25/2.5 mm needles, for large use sport weight and 2.5/3 mm needles.
2. There are charts provided for a version with a longer cuff and a version with a shorter cuff. Choose the one you prefer.
3. Stranded colorwork: Follow the charts from right to left. Catch longer floats using preferred method.
Gauge: 9 sts x 13 rows (knitting in the round) in 1” x 1” after blocking (this is gauge for recommended yarn and needles)
Test-knit by the wonderful Juliemross. Thank you so much, Julie! ♥
