Caveat Crop
This jumper is my literal perfect jumper. I made it over and over for like 2 years straight, and after a long break I still wear my samples in all 3 sizes more than any other jumpers I own! It’s a super cosy and versatile top down raglan with cute false rib accents. I designed this with all body types in mind as a ‘3 sizes fit most’ design - if you find yourself struggling with making it fit, please let me know @whatlydiamade on instagram and we will work it out! Schematic is available in the pattern photos :slightly_smiling_face:
It is important to me that this pattern is finacially accessible and so for low-income customers, this pattern can be purchased at 50% off using the code ‘LOW50’. This is an honours system - please respect that I also am trying to make a living from my designs and if you can afford the full price I’d appreciate if you paid it.
Special thanks to Gwen Wagner-Adair and Eli Bracken (Technical and grammatical editing), and David Morrow (graphic design, photography) for their amazing work on the team for this pattern!
SIZING:
This is a ‘3 sizes fit most’ pattern. You can change the effect of the fit by choosing different sizes or working it in different materials/fibres. I originally designed size 2 for myself at bust size 51in with a decent amont of positive ease, but I actually wear the size 1 most often and it has negative ease on me. I personally think the fit is pretty magical; I’ve tried size 2 on my teenage siblings of many genders, my mum, my dad, my assistant, and myself (a size range of uk 6-26 with boobs ranging from none to a K cup) and it looked good on everyone!
YOU WILL NEED:
- 4 mm (G/6) crochet hook or size required to obtain gauge
- Tapestry needle
- 5 locking stitch markers
YARN:
I used a large variety of yarns in development for this pattern. I’d recommend aran or worsted weight, but it can be made holding a strand of double knit with a strand of mohair or 2 strands of double knit for a nice bulky weight, or even one strand of double knit for a lighter, less opaque version! Using less springy fibres like cotton will make a heavier, more drapey jumper with looser looking tension, and using more lightweight fibres like acrylic and wool will make a tighter looking jumper with more of a dramatic silhouette!
For the pictured sample I used Wendy Aran (75% acrylic, 25% wool, 200m / 219yds per 100g)
Yardage:
1000 (1200, 1450)m / 1095 (1310, 1585)yds
Gauge:
16 sts and 7.5 rows per 10cm / 4in in trebles worked flat (back and forth), working into the front loop only.
