Caylynn's Colourful Dishcloth
Create a fabulous textured dishcloth using slip stitches. The texture is thick enough that, if made larger, it could also be used as a potholder.
Tools and Materials:
- 5.00 mm H-8 crochet hook – or appropriate hook for yarn weight used
- tapestry needle and scissors
- worsted or Aran cotton or other yarn suitable for coasters (samples used approx. 20 g Bernat Handicrafter Cotton) - other yarn weights can be used, however, the number of foundation chains will need to be changed
Sizes: One size. Samples is 13 x 13 cm (~5.5 x 5.5 inches). Width can be adjusted by increasing or decreasing the number of starting chains (maintaining an even number of starting chains). Length can be adjusted by increasing or decreasing the number of pattern repeats.
Note: A crochet hook with a pointier head can be helpful when making slip stitches (inline hooks often have a pointier head than tapered hooks). Alternatively, crocheting with a looser tension than normal can also help make the slip stitches.
