A cèilidh in Scotland and Ireland is social gathering - often where stories are told, food is eaten, and dances are held. This knit was inspired by those dances, with intertwining cables, and gentle twists and turns, mimicking the dancers on the floor as they twirl about.

The ribbing in this pattern allows for quite a bit of stretch, making it suitable for a wide range of arm and hand sizes. At under 200 yards, it’s a quick knit, and an excellent choice for gift knitting!

Techniques used:

  • Cables
  • Reading charts
  • Knitting in the round
  • knitting a gusset
