Whether you are a seasoned double knitter or are trying double knitting for the first time, the Celebrate Sock Scraps Scarf will meet your needs. This project is a great way to use up sock scraps, fingering weight scraps, and scraps that you thought were too small to be useful for anything! One stripe takes about 3 grams or 13-15 yards of each color.

Because it’s double knit, this scarf is fully reversible with no traditional right or wrong side. The pattern includes possible modifications to make this scarf exactly the way you like. (Note that modifying the pattern will change the amount of yarn required.)

Overview
This scarf is double knit with a two-color i-cord cast on, edging, and bind off. Because it is double knit, it is fully reversible and looks great on both sides.

Gauge
Because this is a scarf, gauge is not as important. Feel free to play around with gauge. Increasing your needle size will make the scarf bigger and the fabric less dense and more drape-y. Decreasing your needle size will make the scarf smaller and more dense with less space between the stitches. Swatch to figure out what gauge you like best with your yarn.

Materials
Yarn
This scarf was designed to use up all your fingering and sock weight scraps while still looking neat and clean. As little as 3g of one color is enough for one side of a color stripe! Feel free to play around with colors and stripe sizes depending on your scrap stash.

Notions
1 locking stitch marker (optional, to keep track of the “right” side)
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
