A cheerful, stripy cover for Easter eggs!

Refillable plastic Easter eggs typically come in two sizes: approximately 2.5” tall and approximately 3.25” tall. This pattern has been designed to fit both sizes by using different hooks and thread weights.

This pattern is worked in two halves which can then be joined either fully to wrap the egg, or joined only with a short “hinge” so the egg can still be opened and filled.

For large egg:
1.4 mm steel crochet hook and size 10 crochet thread.

For small egg:
0.75 mm steel crochet hook and size 20 crochet thread or size 8 embroidery thread.

For both large and small eggs:
• 8 yds mint
• 10 yds pink
• 11 yds yellow
• 8 ½ yds blue
• 6 ½ yds peach
• 9 ½ yds lilac
or 12 scraps of yarn 2 to 7 yards long.
