Celeste {suh-lest} (proper noun) Derived from the Latin word caelestis meaning “heavenly”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Celeste is a simple and understated bandana cowl with a lovely drape that you just drop over your head. There are no ends to wrap and you get the look of a boomerang scarf with the ease of a cowl.
Celeste is crocheted flat, wet blocked and then joined with an easy whip stitch seam to form the cowl shape. Easy instructions for wet blocking and seaming are included.
The stitch pattern is a simple mesh with interesting side edging stitches.
And, you can crochet a small or medium cowl with about 210 (~50 grams) of fingering weight yarn and a large size with about 250 yards. I used one skein of Brooklyn Tweed Peerie (210 yards/50 grams) in the colors “Morel” and “Cassis” for my two cowls. Peerie is a fingering weight yarn of 100% American Merino Wool that comes in 45 different colors! And, Peerie after wet blocking has the most amazing drape. Find Peerie at www.brooklyntweed.com
Find your favorite color of Peerie, neutral or bright, and enjoy this simple and quick crochet project. You can crochet Celeste in an afternoon, so this cowl is great for gifting. It’s never too early to start preparing for birthdays, or the holidays at the end of the year!
