Have you ever heard of Roosimine? It’s an Estonian inlay technique that creates the illusion of embroidery through the use of floats in contrasting yarn on the right side of your knitting.
The name Roosimine actually means “decorating with roses” and it stems from a style of short stitch embroidery that was typically done on the Estonian island of Muhu. Interestingly, this technique can also be called Roositud. The only difference is that Roosimine is the verb or action of doing the technique, while Roositud refers to the finished product. It’s a fascinating technique that can really elevate your knitting projects!
