This dress design combines knitting, sewing, and embroidery for a unique combination of textures, colors, and techniques. Embroidered chain-stitches are worked on a gathered fabric skirt and then used to pick-up stitches for a knitted bodice. The result is a textured, knitted bodice joined to a colorful printed fabric skirt.

Bodice is knit flat in one piece up to the armholes, and then separated for front and back yokes. Set-in sleeves are slightly puffed, and the charted twisted stitch motif can be worked with no cable needle. Easy garter stitch neckband edging matches sleeve edging.
