This pattern is recommended for experienced knitters. It includes cables; provisional cast on; short rows; grafting; picking up stitches; and working in the round.

There are both written line-by-line instructions for the cable pattern, and charts.

To knit the hat, a band is knit back and forth on straight needles. This is then joined together at the ends to form a circle, and stitches are picked up on either side for the top and the brim.

It may finish small depending upon the knitter, but can be easily blocked to fit.
