Inspired by the traditional celtic knot, and worked in stranded fairisle style motifs, this is a quirky stylish cowl or earwarmer to keep out winter breezes.

Two colours are knitted into each row, the colours alternately carried behind the work to create a substantial but soft double-layer fabric which has excellent insulation qualities - wonderful to snuggle into on a cool day.

The Celtic knot is an ancient motif, frequently found on the carved stone crosses of the lands of the celtic peoples. Such crosses are especially common in Ireland and Scotland.
