Celtic Diamond Cable Blanket
Description:
This Celtic diamond blanket is a modern version of the traditional Aran cable motif. This crochet blanket uses post-stitches to generate ribbed diamonds, and cable stitches to create textured diamonds. These two types of diamonds are interleaved or tiled across the blanket’s surface making an intricate and elegant balance of visual texture.
The crochet blanket is worked in one piece with the blanket’s ribbed edging added in the round. In addition, a Sherpa fabric lining is added to the back of the blanket, and instructions on sewing on this backing by hand are included in the pattern.
The pattern includes a written pattern, a stitch diagram, and video tutorials of the cable stitches (links below).

Materials
• 49 skeins of WeCrochet, Wool the Andes, Worsted Weight, color: Fjord Heather (110 yards per skein)
• 2 yards of Sherpa fabric (in a matching color) to line the back of the blanket
• Needle and thread to sew the Sherpa fabric backing onto the crochet blanket
