Celtic Fingerless Gloves
This pattern is knit in Drops Alpaca 01. Group A / 5 ply / sport.
The needles used for this pattern are 2.5 mm DPNs.
The gauge of the stockinette stitch is:
5 cm x 5 cm = 16.5 stitches x 22 rows
(or 1 cm x 1 cm = 3.3 stitches x 4.4 rows).
Feel free to use any yarn that has a similar weight or change to needles that give you a similar gauge. I’ve also knitted this pattern in Drops Baby Merino without changing the needle size or swatching, and the gloves turned out well.
The gauge of the second yarn in the stockinette stitch turned out to be:
5 cm x 5 cm = 16 stitches x 23 rows
(or 1 cm x 1 cm = 3.2 stitches x 4.6 rows).
The gauges were measured after the fabric was wet and left to dry. Remember that the gauge can be very personal, and it is improbable you can knit exactly the same gauge.
There is only one size for the pattern. Still, to make any reader of this pattern feel a bit better, I’ll include some measurements of my hand: wrist – 15 cm, knuckles – 18 cm, around the middle of the palm including the saddle joint of the thumb – 21 cm, wrist to the tip of the middle finger – 18 cm.
