This is the test knit for the KnitKit.

Inspired by the traditional celtic knot, and worked in stranded fairisle style motifs, with two pockets and shawl collar - this is a luxurious and generous-sized jacket.

Two colours are knitted into each row, the colours alternately carried behind the work to create a substantial but soft double-layer fabric which has excellent insulation qualities - wonderful to snuggle into on a cool day.

The Celtic knot is an ancient motif, frequently found on the carved stone crosses of the lands of the celtic peoples. Such crosses are especially common in Ireland and Scotland.

Until the rise of the Roman empire a large part of Europe was dominated by celtic peoples, and the knotwork, spirals and key patterns are said to have been influenced by various non-Celtic cultures.
