Yarn
Chunky yarn is needed for this. I have used both Malabrigo Mecha and King Cole Chunky. As these fingerless gloves are knitted quite tightly on 4.5mm needles look for yarn that has a swatch gauge of 14 stitches over 20 rows on 6mm when choosing your yarn.

These gloves grow from the cables in the middle of the hand, rather than the traditional style of gloves. They require two contrasting colours of yarn and can be made in either intarsia or stranded colour work.
