Celtic Mazes are ancient symbols, drawn by men since prehistoric times. Among their symbolism is the idea of a wandering path to the centre and out. For me, drawing celtic mazes on this shawl is a way to explore my own celtic origins. I grew up in Brittany and my whole family comes from Brittany, yet it’s a culture that I often feel disconnected
from, having not learned the breton language and missing lots of parts from it. So I’m using this design to rediscover the missing pieces in a creative way that feels true to me. Whether you have celtic origins or not, I hope that you will enjoy the journey!
Celtic Maze is an asymmetrical triangular shawl worked in three colors. It starts from the right tip then is worked with multiple increases on the right side and single decreases on the left. A multicolored yarn is used as a background, alternating with stranded sections worked in two solid colors. A garter stitch border is worked on all sides.

Ce châle est inspiré par les labyrinthes celtiques qui sont d’anciens symboles dessinés par les hommes depuis la préhistoire. Parmi leur symbolique, on trouve l’idée d’un chemin sinueux vers le centre et vers l’extérieur. Pour moi, dessiner des labyrinthes celtiques sur ce châle est un moyen d’explorer mes propres origines celtiques. J’ai grandi en Bretagne et toute ma famille en est originaire, mais c’est une culture envers laquelle je me sens souvent déconnectée
car je n’ai pas appris la langue bretonne et il me manque pleins de petites choses de cette culture. Alors j’utilise ce modèle pour redécouvrir les pièces manquantes d’une manière créative et personnelle. Que vous ayez des origines celtiques ou non, j’espère que ce voyage vous plaira !
Celtic Maze est un châle triangulaire asymétrique tricoté avec trois couleurs. Il démarre par le bout de droite puis est tricoté avec de multiples augmentations à droite et des diminutions simples à gauche. Une laine multicolore est utilisée comme fond, alternant avec des portions de jacquard à deux couleurs. Une bordure en point mousse est tricotée de tous les côtés.
