Celtic Spirit Mosaic
Thank you for your interest in my latest design I love the look of Celtic knots an wanted to create a design and here’s the result!
An overlay mosaic crochet design using US terminology.
The download includes the full WRITTEN PATTERN and CHARTS, in separate PDFs, please check your library.
A repeating pattern, so you repeat the pattern as
many times as you wish and only do the last stitch at the very end of the row. At the start and finish of every row will be a single crochet stitch. These are separate to the pattern, and you will go through both loops of these stitches at either end. I call these Anchor stitches, AS. Every single crochet is written as ‘s’ and every double crochet is written as ‘D’, i hope you find this as easy as i do!
Celtic Spirit is a 72+1 stitch repeat by 67 rows. For the above picture I did 4 repeats across by 4 repeats
high because I used a Twister cake for the first time and boy it felt like it took me ages, but it was worth it! Enjoy
using your colour changing yarn! Or keep it simple.
1 repeat chain 72+4. 76 chains. All the chain amounts include the turning chain, anchor stitches and the last
stitch.
2 repeats chain 144+4. 148 chains.
3 repeats chain 216+4. 220 chains.
4 repeats chain 288+4. 292 chains. Yes, I did this many!
I used Hobbi Twister in Twisty Greys, 250g cake/1000m per cake. Total used, 2 cakes, 1.904m/476g used.
Twister Solid in Khaki Green, 100g cake/400m. Total used 4 cakes, 346g/1384m.
For the border I used the same yarn as my blanket amounting to 848g for the whole blanket.
My blanket measures, 36.5inches wide 93cm, by 35.5 inches high 90cm without the border, and with the border measures 37 inches high 94cm, by 38 inches wide 97cm. But you can make it as small or large as you want, some of my testers did a table runner, all of their information is in the download.
