The Celtic Twilight Throw Blanket makes a generous lap blanket or wrap in aran weight yarn with 5mm needles. I’ve used a 60” circular needle, but 47” would be ample. I’ve used Briggs & Little Tuffy yarn which is wool with 20% nylon, but this blanket will get a lot of use and will be outside at times. Any sturdy aran yarn without nylon would be fine, especially if it is wool!

The pattern includes both charts and written instructions for the cables, which are easy to follow.
