This pattern is free for you to enjoy. My joy comes from knitting and giving back to the knitting community. If you would like to support the creation of future patterns, please consider making a small contribution via Paypal to: Paypal.me/Viktionary
Contributions go towards purchasing yarn for future designs and the occasional Earl Grey latte to keep the fires of creativity fueled. Regardless of whether you contribute or not, thank you for your support and kind words on my patterns.
With some of the vintage acrylic left over from a previous cowl, I knitted up this colourwork cowl. I found a couple of simple motifs in a 17th century embroidery book and doubled them up with a line of little squares between. The motifs reminded me of a row of soldiers, with their pike staffs, so I called this Cempestran, which is Old English for a female warrior.
