Centripetal Hat
Centripetal force describes the movement of a body along a circular path, for example swinging a ball on a rope. The brioche stitch has a similar force. It is mesmerizing and addictive. The needles keep clicking and the yarn looping. Once started it is hard to stop the centripetal force of the brioche stitch. The yarn and needles will keep going around and around and around ……
Centripetal Hat is a pattern that creates a hat using the brioche stitch. It is a great pattern for handspun long color repeating yarn. This pattern has a unique twist as a reversible double knit cable has also been added. With 2 color brioche, a fabric is created that is reversible but one side has a completely different look from the other side.
Included are suggestions for creating the hat with hand-spun yarn. Two commercial alternatives are given to create the hat from either brand of yarn.
