The Century Shawl is a super bulky weight kite shawl that is full of squish. I consider this to be a great beginner project if you’ve never made a kite shawl before. The striped texture is created from only knit and purl stitches. The shaping of the kite design is achieved by placing yarns overs at the beginning and ends of each row and by knitting two stitches together at the center spine. I have included links to several video tutorials for some helpful techniques for this project. And, if you’re wondering about the inspiration for this
design, I named it the Century Shawl because this is my 100th published pattern!
