I love when my mind is slowly getting more quiet and at the same time, my hands know exactly what to do. And these stitch pattern repeats are reeaaaally addictive. Once I started working with CERATA stitch, I just couldn’t stop. So for all the reasons above, the cardigan version was inevitable.

CERATA cardigan is designed in classic modified dropped shoulder construction and knitted seamlessly from the top down. At first, the stitches are cast on for the back of the neck. Then, by increasing, the trapezoidal back of the cardigan is being formed. Next, the stitches are picked up along the shoulders and worked separately shaping the V neckline. When the indicated length of the fronts and back
is reached, the parts are joined to form the body.

The stitches for the sleeves are picked up along the armhole openings and initially shaped using German Short Rows. Further on, the indicated cuff circumference is achieved by decorative decreases.

The placket is knitted at the very end using the Double Knitting technique.
