CERATA sweater
Let me introduce you to the very first CERATA project - an oversized, structural sweater which is full of details highlighting the uniqueness of hand-knitted garments.
CERATA sweater is designed in a classic modified dropped shoulder construction and knitted seamlessly from the top down. At first, the stitches are cast on for the back of the neck. Then, the trapezoidal back of the sweater is being formed by increasing. Next, the stitches are picked up along the shoulders and worked separately as the right and the left front.
The neckline is being shaped while working on the fronts. When the indicated length of the fronts and back is reached, the parts are joined to form the body.
The stitches for the sleeves are picked up along the armhole openings and initially shaped using German Short Rows. Further on, the indicated cuff circumference is achieved by decorative decreases.
I know not everyone loves folded turtlenecks and that is why you’ll find two options for neckline finishing in the pattern.
