Cerberus or Fluffy the Three Headed Dog
Cerberus features in Greek and Roman mythology as a multi-headed dog that guards the gates of the underworld and prevents spirits of the dead from crossing the river Styx back to the land of the living. His role was reprised in the first Harry Potter novel as “Fluffy,” Hagrid’s giant, three-headed dog that guarded the Sorcerer’s Stone.
My pattern gives Fluffy the amigurumi look, or what he might have looked like as an adorable young pup. I based the design on the Rottweiler breed. This pattern will also make a cute, normal Rottweiler puppy: simply omit the right and left heads!
Pattern includes:
-- definitions of stitch abbreviations
-- materials list, including recommended yarn brands and colors and where to find mat’ls
-- instructive color photos
-- links to helpful online crochet tutorials
Finished dog is about 6.5 inches (16 cm) tall, 5.5 inches (14 cm) long, and stands on its own.
