Inspired by the Roman Mother Goddess of the Harvest, the pattern of the Ceres Headband celebrates the elegantly rippling rows of abundant grain fields.

The construction of the Ceres Headband begins in the center of the back of the head using the provisional crochet cast-on. First one side is knit toward the front in a beautiful braided pattern using double cables. Then the stitches from the provisional cast-on are picked up and the other side is worked. Both ends are cast-off together using the 3-needle bind-off. Lastly, the front bow is knit separately and sewn onto the headband.

Each step and cable is explained in detail, making this pattern great for someone experienced in knitting cables and willing to learn double cabling.
