This romantic crescent shawl has a beautiful, intricate flower stitch pattern that reminds me of the flowers you find on the various Cereus types of cacti.

Pattern Notes
This shawl is worked with a provisional cast on. The lace edging is worked first, from provisional cast on (the inner edge of the lace) to the outer edge of the lace, then bound off loosely.

Pick up stitches from the provisional cast on to work the short rowed main body. Work an I cord bind off.

The main flower repeat is a modification of one of the flowers in Herbert Niebling’s Creamohne.

Depth (edge): 15in / 38cm (note: edge blocks out deeper than gauge suggests because of lace pattern)
Depth (center): 17in / 43cm
Outer edge: 130.25in / 331cm
Inner edge: 69.5in / 176.5cm

Yarn
Anzula Cloud, 80% Superwash Merino / 10% cashmere / 10% Nylon (575 yd / 525m per 4.02 oz /114g), 2 skeins, shown in Olivia. As knit, shawl used 1150 yds /1050m.

Needles
US2 / 2.75mm needles or size to obtain gauge
(2) US2.5 / 3mm dpns for I cord bind off
Larger needle if required for loose bind off along lace edge

Gauge
19 sts and 32 rows = 4in / 10 cm in St st (blocked)
Precise gauge is not necessary, but alterations in gauge will affect yarn requirements. Note that this shawl is blocked quite vigorously.
