Chagrin Valley Cowl
This cowl is inspired by the charming Chagrin Valley area in Northeast Ohio, which is made up of quaint towns, beautiful parks, and wonderful people. It is knitted in the round, and may be adjusted in size.
Finished Measurements: Height – 8.5”; Circumference – 39”
Requires a total of 232 yards of yarn. 212 yards of Main Color, and 20 yards of Contrasting Color.
The pictured sample is knit in Blue Sky Fibers Organic Cotton in Sleet (main color) and Caribbean (contrasting color). A wool or wool blend would also work well, producing a warm/springy fabric, but the stitches may appear less defined.
This cowl is adjustable in size, and can be made either larger or smaller by increasing or decreasing the cast-on by a multiple of 20 stitches. However, if you adjust the size of the cowl, remember that this will affect the amount of yarn required.
The pattern mainly consists of written instructions, however, both written and charted instructions are provided for the lace portion of the cowl.
