Chainey – playing with the word “chain”, because with this small pattern, created by purl- and slipped stitches, I associate chains.

The name Chainey can be used neutral for woman and man and its meaning is oak grove, which sounds mystic and will be a really nice place to stay at a summer day.

This summer pullover/ shirt is worked top down. Starting with a ribbed neckline and some short rows for neck shaping. The circular yoke has a chain inspired pattern. Yoke increases are worked in the round and finalized afterwards with some raglan increases. The body is knitted in stockinette stitch and has a small chain pattern before finishing the body with a small section of 1/1 ribbing. The sleeves, knitted in rounds with the same finishing like the body.

Cocoon by Mme Benoir (50% Alpaca, 50% Wool – Merino, 300m/(328 yards)/100g), 550/600/660/770/880/990/1000/1050/1100m or a yarn (sport or DK weight) which gives you required gauge.

Im Englischen ist chain die Kette. An solche erinnert mich das Muster. Und mit ein bisschen Wortspielerei kam ich auf „Chainey“, was ein Name ist, der wiederum so etwas wie Eichenhain bedeutet. Ein Eichenhain, klingt mystisch und lädt im Sommer zum verweilen ein.

Dieser Pulli/ das Shirt wird von oben gestrickt, so dass Du zwischenzeitlich immer mal wieder die Passform überprüfen kannst. Verkürzte Reihen im Nacken formen eine schöne Rückenlinie bevor die Rundpasse mit Zunahmen und dem Kettenmuster gestrickt wird. Es folgen für eine bessere Passform ein paar Raglanzunahmen. Der Body und die Ärmel erhalten vor dem 1/1er Rippenbündchen noch einmal das Kettenmuster als kleines Detail.
