Chainlink Beret
by Emmy Mudge
It’s hard to find patterns where the yarn is carried over the work instead of under. It enhances the texture—thickens it, rather than thinning it out. For Chainlink, one of the colors is frequently carried in front. A few rows later, it is picked up and knitted with a new stitch. That color zigs and zags over some basic colorwork. It’s Fair Isle with a twist—a treat for colorwork fans.
One size fits most adult heads.
K1P1 gauge (using size 1 needles) is 36 stitches & 40 rows = 4 inches.
Additionally, you will need a stitch marker and a tapestry needle.
2 balls of yarn for the MC, 1 ball each for the other 2 colors.
