PATTERN NOTES
Chaleur is worked in the round from the bottom up. After the ribbing is complete, the body is worked from a chart in an all-over cable pattern. Increases are incorporated into the first two rounds of the chart to accommodate the cable gauge.

The brim and body pattern are both quite stretchy and the hat is designed to fit an average adult woman’s head.

1 hank Kelbourne Woolens Scout (100% wool; 274 yd/100 g): Orchid Heather

Size U.S. 3 (3.25 mm), 16” (40 cm) circular needle - or size needed to obtain gauge

Size U.S. 6 (4 mm), 16” (40 cm) circular needle - or size needed to obtain gauge

Set of size U.S. 6 (4 mm) double-pointed needles (dpns).

Stitch marker, tapestry needles, cable needle (cn).

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
16 1/2” (42 cm) circumference, unstretched. 10 1/4” (26 cm) height, brim folded.

GAUGE
29 sts x 30 rnds - 4” (10 cm) in K1, P1 Ribbing, unstretched, on smaller needles, after blocking.

2 Cable Chart repeats (24 sts), unstretched = 3” (7.5 cm) on larger needles, after blocking.
