Chalipa Mosaic Cushion
This pattern is on sale (30% off) No promo code is needed.
Chalipa is created using the overlay mosaic crochet technique.
It is inspired by and derived from ancient patterns on Persian rugs.
Chalipa is a panel in Nastaliq script ( a form in Persian calligraphy) but it actually means CROSS, because of the X shape.
Upon purchase, you’ll get row-by-row written instructions and one X-marked chart.
The pattern is very easy to follow and great for beginners, although the more experienced crocheters also will enjoy making great projects.
Chalipa has been used to create a variety of different projects such as tote bags, scarves, blankets, table runners, and cushions. Don’t limit yourself to the suggested project. Use it as you wish.
I cannot wait to see what you might come up with. Please share your makes on Social Media and give credit to Mahoor Design.
Here is the yarn and hook info:
For this cushion I used two skeins of each color:
Yarn:
Main Color: Loops & Threads Capri Eco Cotton Eggplant(9944)
Opposing color: Bernat Lavender(162105)
Each skein is 131 yards and 75 g
Hook
4.5 mm
The cushion measures (30 x 30cm). When using the recommended yarn and hook. Any yarn can be used but the size may vary.
For Mosaic crochet, you only need to know how to make single-crochet and double-crochet stitches. The double crochet stitches cover some of the other color’s single crochet stitches to create the design. The back is striped.
