This a pattern for a pair of socks that is knit from the top (cuff) down on two circular needles, with an optional 12-inch needle. The socks themselves are created using Alpine Cable stitches, so that cable knitters will love them. Alpine cables differ from Aran cables in that they are cabled every round, and most of the knit stitches are knit through the back loop. The cables will add both a little warmth and durability to the socks, as well as show off your knitting prowess. This is one of the easier of my Alpine Sock patterns. If you haven’t tried an Alpine cable, I think you’ll like starting with this one.
The focal stitch is both written out and charted.
The directions are written for all three sizes: Small, Medium, Medium - Large and Large - XL, and is sized by gauge, however if you vary to L or XL, make sure you adjust your yarn to fit the needle size.
Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of knitting and cabling, and some sock knitting experience ).
The yarn used to make the sample pair is Handmaiden’s Prosecco yarn in colorway, Jade.
The sample was expertly test knitted by Elizabeth Alm, who can be reached at:kesalm@yahoo.com.
This pattern is for sale here on Ravelry and in my Etsy shop in the Cabled Sock Section (https://www.etsy.com/shop/WearableArtEmporium?ref=seller-…)
