The cowl/scarf is worked back and forth at first, then joined to work in the round. This is the crochet “sister” to the knitted Chamyle, designed with riders in mind--just slip it over your head and go! The beads add a bit of extra weight to help it lie flat when wearing it.

This would be a great “leftover” or scrap project, as it uses little yarn. Vary the size by using smaller hook & yarn if desired. Bead size can also vary, as long as the small hook will pass through them and you like the result. Experiment! :)

Other materials needed: 33 large beads (mine were 16mm diameter), small crochet that will pass through the bead holes.
