Chanel-Style Tweed Jacket
by Jean Frost
Coco Chanel brought tweed fabrics into the world of high fashion in the 1950s and 1960s. Unlike the utilitarian garb made throughout the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, which consisted mainly of country-style jackets and capes, the new Chanel designs were couture jackets worn by well-to-do women around the world. Jean’s jacket here has the styling and shape of a classic Chanel jacket, but with a rustic look.
Uses 4 (5,5,6) skeins Tahki Yarns Donegal Tweed in grey and 2 (3,3,4) balls blue, plus 1 ball Tahki Yarns Torino for all sizes in orange.
