Channel Islands Amigurumi Mermaid is an easy to follow crochet pattern with tons of pictures and a video tutorial that shows how to embroider the eyes. There is no gauge for this project, but your finished mermaid should measure about 15-18 inches long.

For this project you will need, worsted weight yarn, fiberfill, 2-3 pipe cleaners, embroidery floss, embroidery needle and (optional) a small strip of cloth for her top.

You can easily get two to three mermaids from one skein of yarn for the body and fin color. The hair does take about one skein of yarn, depending on what length you choose to make the hair.
