Chantico
This pattern is comprised of 4 smaller patterns. The diamond pattern (Patt A) is worked up the front of the leg. The sides (Patt B) are a simple cable and zig-zag stitch. There is a “spine” at the back. The zig zags are mirrored around Patt A and the cables twist inward toward the spine. The “left” and “right” terms on the two pattern B’s are labeled in reference to the spine, not pattern A.
Increases are made out of the spine and create more zig-zag stitches that match the zig zags on that side of the spine.
If you have a bigger or smaller leg, I recommend adding or subtracting zig-zags from the Increase Chart. The written pattern has 3 zig-zag increases (total of 18 sts) and each one is created after working 16 rows of the established pattern. If the curve of your calf is higher up, work 4 complete repeats of Pattern A. If your calf curves more drastically, work a zig-zag increase every 8 rows instead of 16.
