THIS PATTERN IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE.

A folksy pullover knit seamlessly on circular needles from the top down, featuring a stranded colorwork yoke and simple textured stitch in the body and sleeves—the pattern includes instructions and chart for knitting a swatch that is both fun and functional — your swatch becomes a patch pocket for your sweater!

Chaparral is designed to be loose-fitting, and has no shaping in the waist or sleeves. Both sleeve and body length can be adjusted to suit your individual preference. This pattern is written for four sizes.

This pattern is written for DK or light worsted weight yarn. The sample pictured was knit using a combination of woolly/rustic hand-dyed yarns, including Jill Draper’s Mohonk, which is labeled a sport weight yarn. (You could use more or as few as three colors for the yoke.) The colorwork yoke and textured stitch pattern makes this a perfect project for hand-dyed and slightly tonal yarns, and remedies color pooling issues that knitters sometimes encounter. Colorwork is also great for making use of wool yarns left over from previous projects and experimenting with your own color combinations!

GAUGE
20 sts and 26 rows = 4in/ 10cm. Gauge was measured over stockinette stitch and colorwork (in larger needles) after blocking.
