Chapelco Socks
These socks come in various versions: Choose to make them with fingering or DK weight, in one or two colors.
Fingering weight version shown in two colors. DK weight version shown in one color.
SIZES
S (M, L). To fit approx. Women’s Small (Women’s Medium, Women’s Large) feet or a foot circumference of 7 (8½ , 9)“ 17.5 (21, 22.5) cm). Shown in size M.
MATERIALS
Yarn: You will need yarn in up to 2 different colors.
Fingering weight:
Shown in the two-toned version. I used 3 skeins of Peppino by Rhichard Devrieze (100% merino; 226y 206m; 65g). For color 1 2 skeins in colorway Trembling Aspens; and for color 2 1 skein in colorway Charcoal.
The yardage required of each color is approx. 226 (282, 339) yards 206 (257, 309)m in color 1 and 68 (90, 113) yards 62 (82, 103)m in color 2.
If you wish to make them in only one color, the total yardage required is 294 (373, 452) yards 267 (340, 412)m of fingering weight.
DK weight:
Shown in the monochrome version. You will need 1 skein of Merino Silk DK by Tíntica (70% Merino / 20% silk; 273y 250m; 100g) in colorway Mild, or approx 218 (245, 273) yards 200 (225, 250) m of DK weight yarn.
If you wish to make them in 2 colors, you will need about 178 (195, 213) yards 164 (180, 196) m of color 1 and 40 (50, 60) yards 36 (45, 54) m of color 2.
Needles:
Fingering weight version: US1 (2.25mm) dpns or long circular needles for magic loop.
DK weight version: US 2½ (3mm) dpns or long circular needles for magic loop.
GAUGE
Fingering weight version: 34 sts and 42 rounds to 4” (10 cm) in Stockinette St on US 1 (2.25mm) needles.
DK weight version: 25 sts and 36 rounds to 4” (10 cm) in Stockinette St on US 2½ (3mm) needles.
