Charity scarf from scraps
A quick and easy pattern in simple garter stitch to use up even the smallest of yarn scraps.
Size: As required. The suggested number of stitches and width makes an adult scarf about 63 inches (153 cm) long and 6½ inches (16 cm) wide.
Yarn: Any weight or thickness in any length.
Approximately 150 g of yarn in total makes an adult size scarf. A thickness of about 2 strands of double knitting together is appropriate. Use up tiny scraps, doubling or trebling yarn as necessary to give approximately the same thickness, and add in more yarn along the row as it runs out. Even tiny scraps which only work a few stitches can be used. Try splicing the end of the yarn and then overlapping to avoid ends sticking out.
Needles: 7mm. Because of the large number of stitches it is best to use a circular needle with a long cord.
Gauge: Not applicable
