Charlemont
Spend $25 or more in my Ravelry shop in one transaction and you will automatically receive 25% off your entire purchase!
Charlemont is a top-down, seamless, saddle-shouldered pullover designed to flatter, accentuating the shoulders and skimming the body. Its few rows of stranded colorwork - echoed by subtle textured peaks at the hem and sleeves - marry the simple and the striking. Charlemont is a sweater that will take you through the last drips of winter and into spring.
A note about fit: Saddle-shouldered sweaters require a good fit through the shoulders to look their best. Choose a size that is close to your cross-back measurement (measured between the sleeve/body seam across your back).
Skills required:
• Long-tail cast-on
• Backwards-loop cast-on
• Picking up stitches
• Short rows
• Increasing
• Decreasing
• Stranded colorwork (just a few rows!)
Yardage details - (MC/CC1/CC2/CC3):
• XXS - 580/100/100/140
• XS - 625/105/105/150
• S - 670/110/110/155
• M1 - 715/115/115/165
• M2 - 755/120/120/175
• M3 - 800/125/125/185
• M4 - 845/135/135/190
• L - 890/140/140/200
• XL - 935/145/145/210
• XXL - 980/150/150/215
Note: If you are using 220-yard skeins and the chart calls for slightly more than a multiple of 220, you will probably not need that extra skein if you are on gauge and don’t modify the pattern.
Materials:
• You will need needles with cables (or dpns) to accommodate the body, sleeves, and neck
• Needles one size smaller than gauge needles for saddles only
• Needles for neckline and body and sleeve edges that give you gauge in garter stitch (typically 1-2 sizes smaller than what is used for stockinette)
• Stitch markers
• Tape measure
• Waste yarn for holding sleeve stitches
• Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Sample knit in Cascade 220 in Natural, Doeskin Heather, Smoke Heather, and Chocolate Heather.
