Knitting Pattern for a slightly oversized sweater with a classic round neck and a structured pattern with two different yarn qualities in sizes XS | S | M (L | XL | 2XL) 3XL | 4XL | 5XL.

Structure:
The sweater with a structured pattern is worked top down with raglan increases in one piece. The pattern is created by alternating stockinette stitch sections worked in “Silkhair” and garter stitch stripes worked in “Cool Wool Uni”. The two yarn qualities and the alternating pattern creates a nice texture and an interesting design for a classic raglan sweater.
The yoke is shaped with raglan increases and additionally, there are increases to shape the round neck of the sweater. As soon as the round neck is closed to the round, the sweater is worked in the round with the alternating pattern described above. When the desired length is reached, the body of the sweater is finished with a hem in 1x1 ribbing, alternatively an i-cord-bind-off in the CC would make a nice finish.
Now, the relatively wide sleeves are worked in the structured pattern in the round, until they are long enough to work a bunch of decreases for the balloon-like shape. Then, the cuffs are worked in 1x1 ribbing (or you can add an i-cord-edging if preferred).
Finally, stitches are picked up along the neckline of the round neck and a collar in 1x1 ribbing is attached to the neckline.
The fit of the sweater is slightly oversized due to the relatively high amount of positive ease. The highlight of the sweater is the structured pattern created by stockinette stitch and garter stitch stripes, which are additionally emphasized by different yarn qualities (lace weight yarn vs. fingering weight yarn).
