Knitting Pattern for a Cropped Summer Top with a Textured Pattern of Alternating Garter Stitch Stripes and Stockinette Stitch Stripes in Sizes XS | S | M (L | XL | 2XL).

Structure:
The summer top is worked in a textured pattern of alternating stockinette stitch stripes and garter stitch stripes in two parts: First, the back part is worked, then the front part. After you have knitted both parts, they are joined at the sides using the mattress stitch. Afterwards, you are going to pick up stitches along the armholes and cast on new stitches along the shoulders to work the shoulder straps of the top. The straps and the hems are worked in 1x1 ribbed pattern.
The fit of the summer top is relatively tight around the bust due to the negative ease, but it should still feel comfortable to wear. The length is short to make the summer top perfect for high waisted pants, jeans and skirts. Because of the used techniques and construction, the pattern is the perfect beginner pattern – or the perfect mindless knitting project if you already have (plenty of) knitting experience.

10x10 cm = 21 sts x 42 rs in pattern on 4 mm knitting needles (wet blocked)
