Inspired by the colors of sunrise over Charlestown Beach in Rhode Island, I designed this shawl to showcase handpainted yarn. The easy ripple pattern is ornamented by garter texture eyelets. Long color change yarns produce a self-striping effect; yarn with short color bursts produces a fabric resembling a shower of confetti. The shawl begins at top center back and is worked down and outward. Due to extra increases every right side row, the finished shape is a wide crescent.
