Charlie
by Nick Davis
Charlie is an expansion on the Dog Days 8 design—with an additional reversible stitch motif and finishing eyelets that echo an earlier lace section.
As shown, it’s knit quick in worsted-weight yarn, so you get a pretty good-sized wrap in a relatively short amount of knitting-time. At the gauge recommended, the finished shawl is full-sized, at about 71”/180cm across the widest part.
A quick warning—the sample shown took up almost all of the entire ball of yarn, with only a couple of yards left.
Materials:
- About 530 yards of worsted-weight yarn, e.g. 3 skeins of Malabrigo Rios, or one ball of Caron Cotton Cakes (sample shown in Caron Cotton Cakes, colorway Country Romance, ha)
- 1 40”+ circular needle in US7-8/4.0-4.5mm, or size needed for gauge, used to work flat Tapestry needle
Gauge:
For convenience, gauge is based on the first garter-stitch triangle section of the project.
Gauge is 15 sts and 36 rows over 4”/10cm in blocked garter stitch, worked flat.
