Knit completely in the round, leaving only small seams to join at the tops of the shoulders, this project is mostly “tv knitting” (lots of stockinette stitch on the skirt). Once you get to the bodice, you’ll be having such a good time with the smocking stitch that you will want to give it your full attention.

This pattern provides written instructions, and directs you to three tutorial videos on the web to help illustrate some instructions that might be a little hard to visualize from written instructions if you’ve never used the techniques before. My patterns are written with beginners in mind, with all abbreviations explained and very detailed instructions. I am also always available to help customers who have questions, so if you come upon something that you’re not sure of, don’t hesitate to contact me!

Available sizes: 0-3 mo, 3-6 mo, 6-12 mo, 12-18 mo, 2T, 3T, 4T, 5
To fit chest measurement: 16” - 24”
Shoulder to hem finished (blocked) length: 13”- 30”

Materials:
• 400 (500, 600, 700, 830, 990, 1160, 1350) yds fingering-weight yarn (Sample was made from Knit Picks Stroll Tonal Sock Yarn in the Blue Yonder color way.)
• Set of US size 3 DPNs
• 24” US size 3 circular needle
• 2 (2, 2, 2, 2, 3, 3, 3) buttons (approx. a half inch in diameter)

Gauge: 28 sts x 35 rows in stockinette stitch = 4”X4” square

*******Errata:
At the bottom of the left column of Page 5, under the “Left Side of Bodice Front” heading, skip Row 1 completely, join the yarn on the WS and proceed with Row 2 and beyond. As written, beginning by joining on the RS will keep the neckline BOs symmetrical, but the smocking stitch pattern will be one row off. By omitting Row 1, the neckline BO will be one row off (which won’t be noticeable after the neckline trim is worked), but the smocking stitch pattern can be perfectly maintained.
