Charlotte Hat
Lace + Ripples + Garter Stitch = An Enchanting Woman’s Hat
Inspired by a stitch pattern in Hitomi Shida’s fabulous Japanese Knitting Stitch Bible, this design just flew off the needles. The crown shaping maintains the stitch pattern to create an 8-pointed star. It’s easier to knit than it appears, and it’s fun, too! The pattern is written for worsted-weight yarn knit in the round on 16” 40 cm circular and double-pointed needles, but using an alternate method like Magic Loop or two circulars is always an option.
Shown in two yarn choices: Cascade 220 or Brown Sheep Nature Spun. It uses less than a full skein of either, and you can easily substitute other classic worsted weight yarns from your stash.
