Charmed Shawl
The bottom hem of this shawl is made up of “triquetra” triangles. The triquetra is a triangular figure composed of three interlaced arcs. It is used as an ornamental design in architecture, and in medieval manuscript illumination. Its depiction as interlaced is common in Insular ornaments from about the 7th century. Knit this shawl and let it become your talisman :)
Heavier or lighter yarn weights can also be used for this pattern though dimensions and yardage will change. I think a gradient dyed yarn would look good too.
Yarn:
A: Malabrigo Sock (col. 063 Natural) - 250g (1000m).
B: Malabrigo Sock (col. 722 Fortaleza) - 200g (800m).
Size: 220 cm/ 68 cm.
Needles: 2.5 mm - double-pointed needles, 2. 5 mm - circular needles (line length - 80cm or longer).
Gauge: 28sts and 36 rows = 10 cm х 10 cm (with 2.5mm needles)
Note:
For this project, the triangles for border are knitted separately and then the shawl is seamlessly assembled.
This shawl can be easily reduced in size: do not knit two (fifteenth and sixteenth) stripes and their corresponding two triangles. If you want to make the shawl even smaller, then reduce it by four stripes and four triangles.
