I know that there is no shortage of messy bun hats to choose from right now, but as a gal with long hair (who wears it up as much as down) I truly do love the concept. That being said, I like functionality and don’t want a hat that can only be worn half the time, so this one can be worn cinched up when your hair is down or cinched tight around your bun/ponytail.

This hat uses a chunky yarn and works up super fast (and who doesn’t like fast)! I am calling it the Chata Swirl because I whipped it up while enjoying a coffee with Rum Chata (my favorite liqueur EVER)!

This pattern includes an adult one size option, with instructions on how to make it larger or smaller. You can use any type/brand of #5 Bulky yarn for this project - just note that some may work up a little larger or smaller, so be sure to check your gauge and work off of your measurements.
